The Student Centre, Academy of Fine Arts and Faculty of Production and Management Trebinje

The Student Centre, Academy of Fine Arts and Faculty of Production and Management Trebinje are located within two facilities-pavilions, and their intended purpose is a public educational institution – two faculties and a students’ centre.

The facilities are of a free-standing structure with number of floors GF+2, covering net floor area of 3,716.46 m2.

They were built in 1908.

The total number of users on annual level is 393.

Average indoor temperature in the facility prior to implementation of energy efficiency measures was around 18°C, whereas upon completed retrofitting, indoor temperature was raised at the projected 20°C up to 21°C.

The following energy efficiency measures have been implemented within the facilities of the Student Centre, Academy of Fine Arts and Faculty of Production and Management Trebinje:

Implemented energy efficiency measures

  • external walls thermal insulation
  • thermal insulation of attic structure
  • replacement of external walls’ windows
  • heating system retrofitting (installation of new system with heat pumps which provides both heating of the space during the winter and cooling during the summer, installation of solar system for preparing domestic hot water)
  • renewal of the lighting system

Objectives

  • reduction of energy consumption,
  • reduction of CO2 emissions,
  • reduction of energy overhead costs,
  • increase of comfort indoors,
  • raising awareness on importance of energy efficiency.

The total energy savings expected on annual level are around 65%.
