The purpose of the facility is a public educational institution – elementary school.
The facility is of permanent type, solid construction with the number of floors LF+GF+2, covering net floor area of 4,443.30 m2.
The facility was built in 1979, whereas the roof was reconstructed in 1998.
PI Elementary School “Nikola Tesla” is the biggest school on Prnjavor municipality territory and one of the biggest school in Republic of Srpska.
The total number of users on annual level is 985.
Before implementation of energy efficient measures, average indoor temperature in the facility was around 13°C, whereas after performed retrofits, indoor temperature has reached the projected 20 °C.
The following energy efficiency measures have been implemented within the facility of Elementary School “Nikola Tesla” in Prnjavor:

- external walls thermal insulation
- replacement of external windows and doors
- thermal insulation of attic structure
- renewal of the lighting system
- heating system retrofitting (installation of new pellet-fuelled boiler, installation of thermostatic valves, heating pumps and other)

- reduction of energy consumption,
- reduction of CO2 emissions,
- reduction of energy overhead costs,
- increase of comfort indoors,
- raising awareness on importance of energy efficiency.
