Elementary School „Sveti Sava“ Zvornik

The Elementary School “Sveti Sava” consists of two physically separated facilities, old and new school.

The old school facility was built in 1959, it is of an indented outline shape with a few interconnected units and with number of storeys LF+GF+2.

The new school facility was built in 1974 and there is a gymnasium within this facility’s east wing.

Both facilities are of a free-standing, permanent type and solid construction.

The total net floor area of the facility is 5,945.00 m2, whereas the total number of users on annual level is 1,552.

Before implementation of energy efficient measures, average indoor temperature in the facility was around 16.5°C, whereas after performed retrofits, indoor temperature has reached the projected 20°C.

The following energy efficiency measures have been implemented within the facilities of Elementary School “Sveti Sava”:

Implemented energy efficiency measures

  • external walls thermal insulation
  • replacement of external windows and doors
  •  thermal insulation of attic structure and pitched roof of the facility as well as replacement of the roof cover
  • heating system retrofitting (installation of thermostatic valves, heat pumps and other)

Objectives

  • reduction of energy consumption
  • reduction of CO2 emissions
  • reduction of energy overhead costs
  • increase of comfort indoors
  • raising awareness on importance of energy efficiency

The total energy savings expected on annual level are around 60%.
