Elementary School “Sveti Sava” Kozarska Dubica

The purpose of the facility is a public educational institution – elementary school.

The facility is of a free-standing, permanent type, solid construction and it was built in 1974.

In terms of architecture it is of an indented shape, comprised of a few wings, with the number of storeys varying from GF to GF+2.

There is a gymnasium within the facility.

The total net floor area is 3,582.70 m2, whereas the total number of users on annual level is 484.

Before implementation of energy efficient measures, average indoor temperature in the facility was around 15-16°C, whereas after performed retrofits, indoor temperature has reached the projected 20°C.

The following energy efficiency measures have been implemented within the facility of PI Elementary School “Sveti Sava” in Kozarska Dubica:

Implemented energy efficiency measures

  • external walls thermal insulation
  • thermal insulation of attic structure
  • reconstruction of roof surfaces – installation of new pitched roof on the facility
  • replacement of external walls’ windows and doors
  • heating system retrofitting (replacement of existing boilers with new pellet-fuelled ones, installation of thermostatic valves, heat pumps and other)
  • lighting system renewal

Objectives

  • reduction of energy consumption
  • reduction of CO2 emissions
  • reduction of energy overhead costs
  • increase of comfort indoors
  • raising awareness on importance of energy efficiency

The total energy savings expected on annual level are around 65%.
