The purpose of the facility is a public educational institution – elementary school.
The facility is of permanent type, solid construction with the number of floors LF+GF+1, covering net floor area of 2,219.00 m2.
The main compound where the classrooms and administrative part are situated was built in 1960, and in 1970 the existing facility was extended by building an annex next to it and they form one single physical unit today.
The total number of users on annual level is 632.
Before implementation of energy efficient measures, average indoor temperature in the facility was around 16°C, whereas after performed retrofits, indoor temperature has reached the projected 20°C.
The following energy efficiency measures have been implemented within the facility of PI Elementary School “Petar Kočić”:

- replacement of external windows and doors
- thermal insulation of attic structure and pitched roof of the facility
- heating system retrofitting (installation of thermostatic valves, heat pumps, buffer tanks and other)
